Mike has frequently appeared as a volunteer speaker at local high schools as part of his participation in the "Lawyers in the Classroom" Program sponsored by the Illinois State Bar Association.
After a successful seven-year run as volunteer legal advisor and assistant coach for the Maine West High School Mock Trial team, Mike currently serves as the attorney assistant mock trial coach at Niles West High School in Skokie.
Mike has assumed an active role in his adjunct faculty union at Roosevelt University ("RAFO"). He has served as a member of the union bargaining team that negotiated the last four collective bargaining agreements with the administration; and was elected to serve as the RAFO delegate at the Illinois Education Association Regional Assembly Conference from 2015-2022. He also serves as RAFO representative on the local Region 67 Council of the Illinois Education Association.
Mike serves as a mediator in landlord-tenant cases involving self-represented litigants in the Circuit Court of Lake County, Illinois.
As part of his Federal Trial Bar commitment, Mike has represented plaintiffs on a pro bono (for no fee) basis, in two employment discrimination cases brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
